I remember this one time someone made a literal reference to something that happened, for instance using “tar babies” for a couple of baby cats covered in tar, and lots of people screamed racism just to scream racism. That was a good day.
…because “tar baby” has no racial connotation at all. I mean, it’s not like they could’ve called the kittens “tar kittens.” Am I right?????

This brought back lovely memories of the mid-90s and our first old computer. I remember this sound as the one of anticipation. In fact, I think if I could translate into sound that buzzy, anxious feeling I get before something exciting, this would be it. The best part of this, for me, is right at the top. Madrigal types out a version of the dial-up modem sound in English for us:

Breaking News of the Day: Zimmerman’s Bond Revoked: The Orlando Sentinel’s Jeff Weiner is reporting via Twitter that George Zimmerman’s bail has been revoked, and that Zimmerman must surrender within 48 hours.
Weiner reports that the prosecution is saying Zimmerman and his wife “may have committed contempt of court by lying,” arguing that Zimmerman “misrepresented, misled and deceived the court” during a bond hearing regarding his U.S. passport and his family’s financial situation.
